Normal??

My last period was on July 8th. My period is due tomorrow, but I got a positive pregnancy test. My OBGYN won’t see me until the 19th. Is that normal?? Sorry, fist baby here and idk how anything works yet.

It’s totally normal. I never had my first appointments until 8-10 weeks.

Typically doctors won’t see you until 6-8 weeks after your last period

Many hospitals don't see you until around 8 weeks. I think my last one the first appointment was at 9 weeks.

I wasn’t seen until past 8 weeks too. There’s not really a point to it. I also have a low risk pregnancy and am being seen every 6 weeks, not every 4. I won’t have weekly appts until 36 weeks.

With my son I felt the same way! I was like “what?! I just said I got a positive pregnancy test! Let’s move forward immediately!” Lol but apparently they wait until 8 weeks! Lol

I had my first appt at 9 weeks, totally normal. Of course if you are having any problems they should see you sooner.

Yep. I called mine the day I got my positive test and they wouldn't see me for 4 more weeks.

Find a new doctor who will prioritize you! This is not the doctor you want to be with if god forbid you have a problem later on and need urgent attention.
