Maternity leave mess up... anyone other teachers dealing with this?

So I applied for my maternity leave to start September 3, when kids go back to school and planned to work the 3 August days to get my classroom ready. My district started my leave for August so I contacted them to have it changed. They thought I was asking for an extension so just said I can have another week of unpaid time (don’t know why but fine) I wrote another email stating I only wanted to take 12 weeks off as per my FMLA and that it would start on the 3 of September and go through November 25. Cool. I get another email today stating my leave was approved November 19-25...

I called them and tried to explain verbally but also have a paper trail.

Any other teachers dealing with confusion because of summer vacation/ classroom setup?
