Should you be held responsible if your lack of medical treatment affects others?
Sorry if that title sounds complicated, I will explain.
I’ve been watching the medical show New Amsterdam and there is this episode where a man with a tumor causes him to have a stroke behind the wheel and he hits a police officer, badly hurting her. The show later reveals that he knew about his tumor and the possible side affects.
It got me thinking about my diabetic friend who does NOT take care of himself. I’m scared every time he drives that he could have a diabetic episode and hurt someone and himself.
In the show it later comes out that the man with the tumor couldn’t afford his treatments, ...but just for fun... if someone has a know medical condition that they don’t treat, and that results in someone else getting hurt, should they be held responsible?
I personally say no because you can still have some sort of issue like passing out even if you are getting treatment.
