I Shouldn't Have Looked

So...I had to wear a 48 hour heart monitor last weekend and have an Echocardiogram last Wednesday. This is all due to my heartrate being higher in pregnancy, even though Sinus Tachycardia is my normal rhythm.

The fast heartrate also happened with my last pregnancy, but I wasn't sent to Cardiology until 3 months postpartum. I had the same tests at that point and they all turned out fine, so I expected that they would this time.

The doctor hasn't called, so I went online today to see if the reports were ready yet and they were. My heart monitor report looked fine. But my Echocardiogram showed moderate dilation of my left atrium, and mild dilation of my left ventricle...which of course I google and find out that it happens in heart failure. Now sometimes I know this can reverse itself if the cause of the issue is resolved, so sometimes it will reverse after pregnancy. I guess it is possible that this is what happened with my first since I wasn't checked until 3 months after giving birth. But I can't help bit be afraid that this may be irreversible and a problem for the rest of my life, or that the fact that I am only 6 months pregnant may mean that it will get worse the farther along I get.

Just hoping that the fact that the doctor hasn't called me yet means that it isn't as big as deal as I am making it!!!
