What books helped you in your first pregnancy?

I am a big researcher... and I read anything I can about things I don't know about.  What books were helpful to you either first pregnancy or just in general?

Cribsheet! The author also wrote one for pregnancy (the name is escaping me). She’s an economist and is also funny. She tries to find the real data on both sides of a lot of the mommy wars type subjects, so that you can decide with all the facts what’s best for you and your kid. I like that she isn’t preachy or shaming.

I really liked "Hypnobirthing The Mongan Method" by Marie F. Mongan. Even if you aren't wanting a med-free birth, it can help give you peace of mind when it comes to labor and trusting your body, as well as understanding exactly what your body is doing with each stage of labor. I really can't recommend it enough.

I liked “The Pregnancy Countdown Book” by Susan Magee. I thought it was fun to countdown the days of my pregnancy and it had interesting details as well as insight from other mothers and an OB. Aside from that, I typically read things on the internet (like BabyCenter’s details on each week of pregnancy).

I got the what to expect when you're expecting book as a gift but honestly reading things online was just as helpful if not more helpful than the book.

I liked Like a Mother by Angela Garbes— she does a lot of research and weaves in her own birth story. I read it in like two sittings.
