So I went to a new obgyn since my early miscarriage a year ago and let him know that weve been ttc for almost 2 years now. I asked for clomid because I know that they want you to try for a year before anything like clomid and he said that he believes that if an obgyn prescribes clomid thats "malpractice". Hes like you need to see a fertility specialist who can do a semen analysis and get you an HSG test and THEN prescribe the clomid. Umm correct me if im wrong but 1) MANY OBs prescribe clomid 2) we already expected the doctor to ask for a sperm analysis and an HSG test to be done to check for tubal blockage but shouldnt the OBGYN be referring me for these tests? 3) how the hell is prescribing clomid malpractice? Everything will be under his supervision like testing and checking for eggs etc. I have heard many stories of people who dont even try for a year before getting clomid! Has this happened to you? If so, what did you do about? I want to see another ob ASAP.
