I’m 40 weeks pregnant today and have bad stomach pains and tightening and heaps of pressure like pushing down on my lower abdomen. It’s been going for a few hours now but hospital says don’t come in unless your water breaks. Could this be the start of labour? I feel like the pain is getting worse. This is my first natural delivery as with my first I was induced so I didn’t experience the whole contractions on their own thing

Update - pain stopped after like 5 hours. Was not in labour and still pregnant. 40+1 today. The hospital staff have all said the same thing of water breaks and if they become unbearable which they hadn’t because they tampered off. But just frustrating to feel like I can’t go in coz I feel like I’ll be turned away etc but thank you ladies for the support. Today I have niggling back pain and annoying side pain but def not in laby
