I chose select! I liked having the option of picking my doctor. We had to pay a one time fee of $50 and that covered all of the appointments and then the actual birth, which was a csection, ended up costing $36. $86 to me is worth the peace of mind of having a doctor I loved

I like the hospital on the base here. I a service member too so I don’t really have a choice but even if I wasn’t I would still choose prime. I was treated great during my first pregnancy with military medical and have been treated awesome this time too. I also have my child see the doctor’s on base. I enjoy no co-pay. I’ve needed additional scans and have never had to pay extra or worry about going to multiple places, everything is just in the hospital which also helps with the comfort level when it comes time to deliver.

I agree with B. Tricare Select is amazing! You can choose your own in-network doctors or you can use military doctors, your choice. Prime, you have to get referrals and pre-authorizations for damn near everything. It was cool when I was active because that was my only choice.

I’ve grown up with both... I REGUSE to be in prime now that I’m married.. select was amazing for our birth too. I never paid a copay and my hospital bill after 3 days of being give all the food and beverages I could consume, any and all postpartum gear I wanted and two giant gift bags stuffed with formula, blankets, diapers, wipes, etc that the nurses give as parting gifts, was like $35.

I’ve had both and Tricare select is way better! Luckily, I delivered while we were still on select!
