Elective induction at 40 weeks?

Anyone ever had an induction this early (not for medical reasons)?

I’m going in today to talk to my OB about induction. My husband is gone for work a lot and can’t start his leave until the baby comes. He has only been home at night 2 nights in the last 3 weeks...I really want a for sure date so we know he will be able to make it to the birth, it’s really stressing me out playing the what if game and possibly going into labor at home alone. So fingers crossed she gives me the green light to induce for non medical reasons, I’m 39+2 weeks right now.

Yes, I chose to get induced at 40+1 weeks because I was so uncomfortable at that point with my first baby.

Yup! I am scheduled for an induction on my due date next Tuesday if he isn’t here by then! No medical reason really, I’ll be at 40 weeks and they had a slot available, it’s my first and I am so over being pregnant!

My first came on her own, on her due date! This little girl is a bit more cozy in there, so I'm being induced tomorrow at 40+2. Non-medical reason, but my doc strongly feels that it's safest for Mom & baby to deliver between 40 & 41 weeks. She didn't want me getting to 41. I've already made some progress (was 2cm & 75% effaced last week) so she said I'm a great candidate & that it should go smoothly. 🤞😁💗

Just scheduled mine for Sunday at 40+1 for her to arrive at 40+2! If I don’t go naturally before doctor said I’m a good candidate for one because my body has been making some progress but might just need a little kick start.

Yup! I had an elective induction at 39 & 4 
I had previous surgery and it was causing abdominal pain. Not a medical reason to induce but I just couldn’t take it anymore. All went well and I’m holding my little nugget in my arms as I type this. 💙

I was induced at 40 weeks with my first daughter. I am scheduled to be induced at 40 weeks with my third child now.
