C-section Incision slightly open

Has anyone had one of their internal stitches hanging out of their incision? I'm 3 weeks postpartum and I had an appointment with my doctor yesterday because it smells really bad and is leaking fluid and the stitch was just starting to poke out but she didn't notice it. It's opened slightly more and now the stitch is very clearly hanging out of my incision. If your incision was like this did they have to glue it back shut?
