Moved to The South from Alaska six weeks ago when I was 32 weeks pregnant. My husband is from here and so all his family is here and I didn’t want to try to do it with a newborn or young infant. Well he has a mamaw down here, and she was positive I’d have the baby early. I told her the baby would wait until at least 38 weeks.

I had a couple of false labor scares, but today, the day she’s planned my baby shower, I am officially 38 weeks. She told me a yesterday that we’ll have the shower today, and then I am allowed to go into labor tonight when the festivities are over 😂 yes, mamaw.

I’m 2-3cm dilated and 30% effaced and super low and soft, and today I’m feeling a little crampy and contractiony. Maybe my uterus took her at her word 😂
