Epidural or natural?

All the drugs! I feel no need to be a hero in the delivery room and don’t see a point to put myself through additional unnecessary stress. We all get the same result.

No epidural for me. I did it without one with my son born 5 years ago when I was 19 and I loved being able to move freely around the room and get up when I needed too. I have a high pain tolerance and although it hurt at the end, it was so worth it. I was up moving right after i had him and could shower the same day without help!

I’m pretty sure I don’t want an epidural, I want to try to do as natural as possible.  However this is my first so we will see how things go.

I do what I feel I need at the time.  I’ve had 2 epidural birth and 3 natural births (no pain medication at all).

I had an epidural with my first and did not like it at all! My head felt cloudy the whole time, I couldn’t get out of bed afterwards (not to mention the feeling of not being able to move your legs at all is scary to me),  and I couldn’t pee. They were going to put in a catheter if I didn’t pee on time. I guess it affects everyone differently, but I won’t do it again. I didn’t get one with my second, and I’ll do completely natural now with the third.

I'll do my best to do it naturally, but I've already told myself that if I get to the point I can't handle it that I'll go with an epidural.

I really want to have an all natural birth but if I can't handle it I'm getting the epidural

I decided with my first to try to go natural as long as I could, but that if I needed the epidural I would get it. I actually asked to hold off on pitocin when I didn't dilate at first after my water broke, and they gave me a few hours to see if I progressed and I did. I had heard that pitocin made contractions more painful.
Around 5 cm I accepted IV meds to knock the edge off, but by 7 cm they weren't working anymore and I  had to give in and ask for the epidural.

I’ve had one of each & honestly has a good experience with both.. I’m shooting for a natural birth this time around but honestly whatever happens happens. I’m just so ready to meet my first born son. 💙

I had 2 epidurals and 1 natural. I want to try this one natural because it was alot easier but if the pain gets to bad ill get it, if theres time to.
