How do you know baby position?

I know I sound stupid but I literally have no clue, I just have a fear of baby being breech

The doctor or midwife will tell you based on feeling your stomach or ultrasound. You can guess, but ultrasound is the only sure way.

I can’t tell at all which way my baby is positioned, although I can usually point out the butt or head because they are round and pretty easy to feel, I just don’t know which end it actually is lol but your dr should be able to tell you just by feeling the baby.

When my baby was breech I knew. I could literally feel his head up by my ribs. This was at 34 weeks so he was already pretty big. Dr confirmed he was breech and I have an US tomorrow at 36 to see his position. I pretty sure he flipped though because that giant baseball is gone and his kicks are higher and hiccups lower.

My midwives check by feel at each appointment. At my appointment yesterday she couldn't quite tell from feel so she did a quick ultrasound to confirm baby is head down (I'm 34 weeks). Baby can always change positions so even if you are breech now doesn't mean you will be at delivery! There's baby spinning techniques out there too

Usually you just know by getting an ultrasound, but I won't be getting another one this pregnancy. I suspected baby was head down because I felt hiccups super low, at my pubic bone or lower, and the bigger kicks I felt up high near my ribs. I asked my doctor if she could feel my belly and be able to tell and she said she agreed that it felt like his head at the bottom.

Ultrasound or by feel. If baby's head is dropped into your pelvis, you can easily feel the head, neck, and body by feeling along that area. The difference between a head and feet or and arm is very pronounced. Its kind of like feeling a baby doll under a blanket. You can't see the doll, but its easy enough to tell the head from the feet by touch.

When I went to my drs appointment. She felt my belly and said my baby was breeched. I can feel her feet down there.
