I had ketones in my urine but for me it was because I cut my carbs back way to much to try and avoid insulin because I have gestatianal diabetes. You'll have to talk to your doctor and see what the problem is.

Update: My dr said I was most likely dehydrated at the time. She just said to drink plenty of water. I have nearly doubled my intake so hopefully this won’t be an issue any longer!

It literally means your body is dehydrated so bad that its eating at your muscle. You need iv fluids ASAP!!!

I had 2+ ketones in my urine at my appt yesterday and my doctor said it was because I was dehydrated.  So drink some more water mama!

Any protein? It can mean you are in ketosis and not getting enough to eat. You could also be dehydrated. Ketones and protein can be preeclampsia. You also have leuks which may or may not be an infection like a a uti, which can also cause protein but not usually ketones. What did the dr say?
