We struggled for years to get pregnant, complete with failed <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> and miscarriage. To celebrate this little one's birth I really want to have professional newborn photos done. Not necessarily the posed-in-studio kind, more like my husband and I with the baby at home. As soon as I told him the price (I found a photographer I like for $450) he freaked and said he "doesn't see the point" and "why can't we just take pics ourselves?"

Is he right? Is it not worth it? Am I just having an attack of the pregnancy hormones and being too sentimental? I'd especially love to hear from STMs who did or didn't do them with their firstborn.
