Good latch?

TMI WARNING: I'm a ftm and have been wondering if all this time he's been latching wrong. I have a birth defect called pectus excavatum and it makes my boob on the right side a bit sunken in and my nipple smaller, so it makes it very difficult. His mouth does cover the whole thing but I still worry if it's not enough. Please let me know and if there's a way to fix it.

First, there’s nothing “TMI” about this photo. Second, it looks like an ok latch but generally you’d want a wide open mouth. To get a good latch, tickle baby’s top lip with your nipple and wait for him to open super wide then bring baby to boob (not boob to baby) making sure his bottom lip makes contact first and then his top lip. I hope this helps.

Thank you ladies, there's no pain. It gets me worried because I see all these other women and their babies have their mouths super wide and his just doesn't look like that but I can't get him to go wider no matter how hard I try.

He looks like a little fishy so I think it’s a good match. As long as you aren’t having any pain and he’s not fussy then it’s a good latch!

His mouth is open wide and his lips aren't sucked in, so it looks good to me. Like the other ladies said, if it doesn't hurt it's probably a good latch!!

As long as it doesn’t hurt and he’s peeing diapers like every hour he should be good I would think!

Is there any pain or anything when he latches? Pain is a good indicator on if it's a bad Latch. It seems good to me tho
