And it is such a relief! I am 34 weeks and 5 days. High risk pregnancy with multiple recent trips to ER and triage. I live in NJ so I was planning on ending at 36 weeks and taking advantage of the 4 weeks of short term disability prior to your due date. However, at my OB appointment today, my doctor took me out effective immediately. He diagnosed me with hyperemesis gravidarum because I've had extreme nausea and vomiting lately. I am still in shock. It's going to be weird not working, but I'm relieved. I just couldn't do it anymore. He said if I continue to get sick, I will have to deliver at 37 weeks, which is a mere 2 weeks away...so scary. But he's hoping with being off work now and time to rest, I will feel a lot better and as long as baby and I are looking good, he will let me go until 39 weeks. I'd like to keep little boy cooking as long as possible, so fingers crossed!
