My experience - surgical

So yesterday I had a surgical abortion at exactly 7 weeks pregnant. I am in the UK so I had 3 options, to have no anaesthetic, to have sedation or to have a general anaesthetic. I chose to have nothing! And I have to say I do not regret this decision. Seeing all the other ladies come out of surgery all unsure of where they are or what had happened. I walked out and felt so much better, instant relief. I was sure of my decision as soon as I found out, for health reasons. The pain was maybe a 3/4 out of 10 and it took less than 2 minutes . The nurses held my hand and spoke to me the whole time. I left 30mins after the procedure and carried on with my day (felt a little bit more tired than usual so did take it easy) bleeding I've had barely any so far although I know it can come and go so am expecting it to pick up at some point.

How comes you opted for surgical? Why didn’t you have a medical as you was still only 7wks? Was this with BPAS or Marie Stopes? Thanks for telling your story. I had a surgical many years ago but I was about 11 weeks when I had it so I couldn’t have a medical.

Hi Sophie sorry for late reply unfortunately my pregnancy turned out to be an ectopic so I had to have surgery. I hope you’re ok x

It really is. It's been a week today and I physically feel so much better, I have been feeling more guilt but quite honestly no regret still I know it was the right thing to do! Ahh good luck you will honestly be fine, I have barely had any bleeding either.
