Confrontation 😕

I absolutely hate being confrontational when it comes to other people. If it's my feelings, I'm always 100% straight up and to the point. But with my boyfriend I'm honestly not really sure what to do...

When we started dating i knew he had terrible teeth and as things progressed in our relationship they started to fall out. He's now missing all 4 of his front teeth.

It did bother me a lot but I was understanding at first because of how he was raised, he just wasnt dealt the best hand with parents.

But I'm at the point now where we are living together and I'm seeing first hand the truth of how he treats himself and it's not only a turn off, but also I know I need to say something.

I noticed he had an old tooth brush, so I bought him a new one. It took him a WEEK to open it!!!!!

All he eats is sugar and drinks soda day in and day out. He smokes (occasionally which is a surprise). And he just does NOT CARE.

I love him and although this is a dealbreaker for probably everyone else, I dont see this as a reason to end our relationship when inside he is such an amazing person. I'm not shallow.

But I have no clue how to have a serious talk about this?

I want to sit him down and talk to him to let him know it's a problem because if he doesnt change, hes going to lose the rest of his teeth!

I just dont want to sound like I'm condescending, like a mom, or be too cruel because I dont want to make him feel embarrassed...

But it's time for TOUGH LOVE.

Please give me some advice on some things I can say to him to make this go over smoothly
