Opinion on something like this?

I dont feel right using the like backpack leash thing, so I was thinking maybe something like this?? My daughter is 15 months, and HATES holding my hand when walking. She doesnt want to stay in the stroller/shopping cart but when she is free she only wants to run and wonder off. I feel wrong to do this but I don’t know 😭 opinions or suggestions?? Has anyone used this or something like this?

We love our backpack! We’ve used it for maybe 8 months and I have never had anyone say anything negative about it to my knowledge. In fact, we often get complimented on it (It’s like a dinosaur backpack and my son looks so happy strutting in it).

Don’t feel wrong for wanting to take extra precautions. A little boy was recently thrown off the third floor balcony at the MOA here in MN. Crazy shit happens and although it was a crazy person who did it and it was not by any means the mothers fault, scary stuff happens and if this will help and make you feel at ease then so be it

We have a harness-style one for our daughter. It came with that wrist style too but she takes it off or can slide hand out unless it’s uncomfortably tight.  
We live in Chicago in a busy neighborhood. Our daughter thinks she is too big for the stroller and loves to walk. I don’t feel the least bit guilt about the extra safety measure. I’d rather have a few looks thrown my way than a child who decided to bolt and got hit by a car or grabbed by a stranger.

I tried it and to be honest you’re better off getting a backpack that has the lease. This one my son could easily slip out of the backpack lease he can’t undo and loves that he wears his backpack that he packed. Idc what anyone says I don’t trust people these days people are crazy and will snatch a kid quickly or you little one could decide to just run off. My son is 3 and people always ask why I still carry him sometimes, perfect example why I still carry him I was walking in the parking lot of Costco’s headed to the store he was walking because I was heavily pregnant and just didn’t want to pick him up some guy was walking towards with his shopping cart of food he kept staring and I thought maybe we knew him but closer we got I realize no he’s not someone we know. As we walk past he suddenly gets down in my sons face asking for a high out of nowhere. I quickly pulled my son away picking him up and power walking to get in the store all while 7.5 months pregnant.

I would never use it personally, but when it’s a safety thing then you should do it. Who cares what people will think. My son stays in the stroller & shopping carts, loves it, so that’s why I’ll likely never use this. He also knows to hold my hand until he’s in a shopping cart or something

My MIL used one of these with my husband when he was little and he’d slip his hand free and run. If our daughter ends up needing one we’ll use the backpack type one. I’d rather be safe.

I used a harness for my youngest. She was a wanderer and wanted her freedom. I am the opposite of you. I wasn't comfortable with the wrist strap. I felt she was safer with the harness.
