I have been in a relationship for 5 years and have a 2 year old. My bf is mentally, emotionally, and physically abusive. He doesn’t as he says “beat my ass” but he does rough me up and holds me down, takes my phone and car key, yells in my face, throws me around, etc. all in front of my kid. The other day he was starting his shit as usual(everyday thing) touching me when I say stop, punching holes in the walls, yelling, accusations of cheating, breaking stuff, putting hands on me, etc. He walked out of the room so I locked the door I just wanted space which he never gives me and he starts acting crazy next thing I know he broke the bedroom window. My kid is hysterical and so am I. At this point I’m over his shit so I call the cops. The cops come and do nothing and try to take me to jail because he had a scratch from pushing him off of me (he had his hands around my neck choking me) my nails are long but I didn’t mean to. He said it’s because I’m black and he’s white. Cops said he’s damaging his own property so basically they don’t care. Saying next time dcf will be involved when I just want him gone. I just don’t understand I can’t even begin to fathom it.
