Born 8/7/2019 3:56 pm 7lbs 6.5 oz 20.5 inches long

I came in on Tuesday 8/6 to start my induction with the Cytotec pill that was at 6:10pm. I laid flat for 30 minutes. The contractions started within an hour. They checked me I think every 4 hours and I was dilating but very slowly. By the time the dr came it was about 9:30 am. I was 3cm so the dr broke my water and started pitocin. At this point I haven’t had any sleep. The pitocin is causing more contractions and I was still dilating pretty slowly. I can’t remember what time it was but at some point they checked me and I was only 4 cm I think but the contractions were so strong and close and it was taking so long I was like okay give me the epidural because I don’t want to feel anything anymore and I was so tired I couldn’t keep my eyes open. They did the epidural but unlucky for me it did not work because I have scoliosis rods in my back. Another anesthesiologist came in to try to replace the epidural but he said that he didn’t want to put it where it needed to be because it probably wouldn’t work and didn’t want to risk hitting spinal fluid and causing infection. So I went without the epidural and they gave me a morphine shot but all that did was make me more tired and the only time I opened my eyes for a moment was when a contraction started. They checked me again and I was barely 7 finally and they gave me another pain medicine that started with an S and that didn’t do anything either really. So then eventually I could feel him moving down with the contractions and I told them it felt like I had to push. They said don’t push because your not dilated all the way I tried but it felt like the baby was pushing himself out and eventually they said okay you can push and then said hold on wait for the dr and I was like I can’t he’s pushing himself out. She didn’t make it to the room to deliver him but delivered my placenta. That was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I wasn’t expecting it to take so long since he is my 2nd baby and my first was born in half the time. I think they would’ve had the same birthday if I hadn’t been induced though. My first was born 8/10/2013. So after 20 hours of labor and feeling EVERYYYYYTHING here he is my rainbow baby. He is worth it 🌈💙❤️🖤💜
