Do you think Postpartum Depression/Frustration is a reasonable excuse for causing harm to an infant? ( read discription ! )

Recently, a girl in my hometown was arrested for causing harm to her 5 week old son,

Well, I seen some people ( her friends and

family mostly ) saying that it wasn’t her fault, that she is a first time young mother, that she is suffering from postpartum-depression and etc. Seems like they are trying to justify what she did.

A year ago, a women was also arrested for causing basically the same injuries to her 6 week old son, she was 19. People were trying to say that it wasn’t her fault either, and using PPD as an excuse.

Personally, i think there is no reason to ever put your hands on an infant. If you are frustrated, walk away. I see A LOT of people trying to use PPD, or being a FTM/Young Mother as an excuse to these type of behaviors which I don’t agree with.
