Did your other kids know?
I have two daughters already, ages 2 and 4.5. My 4.5 year old has talked about wanting a baby brother for probably close to 6 months. It has always been things like, “When my baby brother gets here, his car seat can go in the middle!” and “When Sister gets a big girl bed, the baby boy will sleep in the crib.”
I had a MC in June at 6 weeks and she never said anything out of the ordinary. I found out yesterday I’m pregnant again and she has commented on it twice already today. Not about future babies like before, she is talking in the present. First she climbed into my lap and poked my belly and said, “It looks like you have a baby in there.” Then later she walked in on me getting dressed and goes, “Oh I like that dress. It really shows the baby in your belly!”
I’m not super skinny, but I don’t really have a belly either. I actually lost 40lbs before the MC so if anything, I’m smaller than she’s ever remembered seeing me. She’s never commented on my body ever before until today. Do you think kids can really sense these things, or is that an old myth?
