Debt collectors?? Help
So I got a voicemail a couple weeks ago from a debt collector it sounded like a pre recorded message so I thought it was a scam call. I looked up the company name and nothing pop up on the first page of google so that kinda just verified my thoughts on it being a scam call. Well today I missed another call from them and they left the same message so I did further digging and did find the company’s website.
In the voicemails they request I call them back. Should I call them back? The only thing I think I would owe debt on is probably a small medical bill but I doubt it since I’ve never received any bills previously. Also I’m still a baby adult living with my parents so it’s not like I’d have any outstanding bills of any thing else.
If I do end up speaking to them I know that I shouldn’t give any personal information and request they send me a letter about the debt to whatever address they have for me. But should I call them do I not give them my name and just expect them to find me from the number I called on?
My phones is always on silent during the weekdays and I always keep it face down on my desk at work so I pretty much miss any call I receive during the day so I doubt they’ll ever get in contact with me via phone.
