HSG questions??

Question

Who has had a HSG test before? And did your doctor find anything? What all happens? What do I need to do to prepare for mine? Did you doctor tell you to take you fertility meds anyways and still plan on having intercourse like normal?

I had it done and found it to be incredibly painful; granted it’s not like that for ALL. Definitely premedicate! If you’ve got something stronger than over the counter, go for it! LOL. Didn’t have anything other than ovarian cysts. Bring a pad with you since you may bleed a little and some dye leak out after the test. I had period-like cramping the remainder of the day. TTC that cycle but was unsuccessful again. Good luck to you though!

I had 2. My first one was painful because my tubes were blocked. My second one was excruciating (and I was on Valium) and they were still blocked by the end, but I suppose a little bit was unblocked because I got pregnant 4 months later. 
That being said, some women just feel minor cramping and it’s a breeze. It just depends on what’s going on in your uterus

I took ibuprofen beforehand to help with any cramping.  I went on to try that month, but wasn’t taking fertility meds.

I had one.  It was so fast that I was surprised when it was done.  It felt like period cramps for only a few short seconds while they injected the dye.  I made it out to be much much worse than it ended up being.   The HSG didn’t find anything other than open tubes.

I did (it was super painful for me) and I had scar tissue from my miscarriage. So I had a surgery to remove it and had to cancel my fertility treatment that month, we started back up when my cycle returned
