How Do I get My 2 Year old Napping Again?
My son just turned 2 a week ago. He has separation anxiety and isn't taking naps anymore. He will stay up through out the day and seems to be more frustrated and easily upset. He will get angry or frustrated and cry, yell, or throw a fit over small things more often. I try to hold his hands to get his attention and remind him to use his words and ask for help if he needs it. He stays up through the day and around 4-6 pm he gets cranky and upset easier and sometimes falls asleep then but I try to get him into his bedtime routine by 9:00 and if he naps too late then he doesn't sleep at bedtime.
I know that separation anxiety is difficult for toddlers and parents and that may have something to do with being more easily upset but I think if he would take naps again he may feel better. Any advice on how to ease him back into taking naps and how to help with the separation anxiety would be greatly appreciated :)
