29 weeks Preeclampsia scare
So the past 48 hours have been an adventure to say the least.
I started getting headaches on Monday as well as seeing spots. By Tuesday I was having BH on top of it all. So my OB tells me bed rest until they said me Wednesday.
I go in, they do my BP, it's elevated. They say they found protein in my urine and my head is hurting so bad I can't be in the light. They tell me I have to go into labor and delivery to be monitored, so I go.
They have my bump hooked up for baby's heartbeat, which is solid and begin running labs. Give me Percocet for my head and that didn't work. So they start trying different meds because the pain is unreal. BP is high for me, but not high enough to worry 135/70 on average. My usual BP is 105-110/50-60, so they at least know I'm in pain.
Fast forward, nothing is working, so they give me a fat dose of dilaudid and admit me. All of my labs come back clear and there is no pre-e. But they want to observe me and make sure I don't have a blood clot in my head. I'm crying because I just want to go home. I hate hospitals from trauma I had with them as a child.
Husband stays the entire time with me. And 36 hours after I first go in, they finally release me saying it's severe migraines. They do want me to start taking magnesium oxide to be on the safe side in case this is Preeclampsia warning signs. I now have to go in twice a week to be monitored at my OB.
I asked why the office saw protein and they didn't and apparently those dipsticks at the office are not always accurate, but still has me a bit worried.
All in all, ready for October to be here.
