How long do you plan to breastfeed for? I originally said I’d do it for a year but I have a week long trip away from the baby when she will be 10 months. Should I stop then?

I plan to do it until 6 months. That was my original goal. I actually enjoy it so I might go longer or might go shorter depending on how my supply is affected once I go back to work. Im trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I'm just happy I've made it 7 weeks without having to give him formula 😊

If you have enough supply to get her through while you are gone, and you can pump to keep up your supply, it’s reasonable to keep going. Ultimately this is a personal decision that is up to you.

Doctor says try till at least 6 months, so 10 months is amazing. They will be trying foods at 6 months too. I’m at 8 weeks and decided to pump & feed from the bottle as my husband wanted to help & feed baby, I feel like I’m drying up as sometimes would miss pumping due to being out & about. Or everything’s too crazy at home. So I feeling a little gutted. I’m going to try pump more regularly to up my supply, but I’m just glad I made it this far xxx

I plan to do it long enough that I never have to give him formula when we wean. But I'm trying to be flexible and nice to myself and not pressure myself.

I’m planning on about 7-8 months if possible. I have currently about 750 oz in the freezer so I hope that I can stop breastfeeding  around 8 months and still go a couple of weeks using up my frozen milk while transitioning to formula.

I plan to go at least 2 years. But I don't mind if she wants to breastfeed longer than that. If you decide to stop at 10 months that is totally fine, most people don't even make it that far. :)
