Severe pain. What is this? Im thinking gallbladder?
So I’ve been having severe pain for about the last 3 weeks. It’s gotten progressively worse. I have back injuries from a prior car accident and am very petite (108lb 5’4” prior preg) so I just thought it was my back getting aggravated or me being small and her growing and uterus stretching. I’m 25+3.
The pain is stabbing, sharp, severe. Feels like a pole stabbed just under my right shoulder blade straight to the front of me. Radiates around to the front on my ribs and then pain in upper right abdomen where my ribs meet my sternum. It makes it so I can’t breath. I can barely get through work, can hardly drive for very long, miserable riding in a car, and can’t sleep. Tylenol, biofreeze, heating pad all useless.
I had an appt last week but my normal ob was gone and it was with a PA. I told her about it and she ordered a kidney ultrasound for the 19th, to rule out stones or infection. But to me, the pain is way too high to be my kidneys, and sounds exactly like the symptoms of gallstones while pregnant. (Although I haven’t had nausea/vomiting/fever). I’ve been trying to just deal with it thinking it was just part of pregnancy but it is getting worse and worse. I go to chiropractor and massage with absolutely no relief. My doc was gone today, so I’m calling back Monday, he will be back, since I’m desperate for something for pain relief or something. I’m going to bring up to them that I think it may be my gallbladder, but I’m afraid they will blow it off or make me wait for a kidney ultrasound even though I don’t think that’s what it is. I’m so desperate and just want an hour of relief.
Has anyone experienced anything like this, or this pain or these symptoms? Could it be something else? Does this just sound like it could be normal pregnancy pain? Help! 😢
