My boyfriend of 3 months broke up with me yesterday because of distance (which we are only 2-3 hours apart) and because he doesn’t have a car or money because he is in college and a athlete. I tried everything to get him to change his mind but he didn’t.

He later told me how he really wants to be my friend. And how he doesn’t want any type of relationship but when he does he would want one with me again. Idk what to do. I accept his friendship but I’m still sad. I was really in love with him and the fact he threw away our relationship is painful. Idk if I should be friends with him. Since I’m not friends with any of my ex’s.

My heart is still broken. He also claims the other reason he ended things were because he was scared he couldn’t love me the way I love him.

My guts tells me not to be his friend and to move on. But he really is the one I wanted to be with like I thought we would have a future together.

What should I do.
