So I am looking into getting one of these and I was wondering other people's experiences with them.

Ive had mirena for a year and i love it. I have heavy periods and mirena is fda approved to treat heavy periods. My periods stopped after month 4. Only side effect was 2 weeks of bad cramps. Insertion was like intense cramps i havent had kids. No pharmacy, no pills. I got it for free. We dont use condoms or pull out and i havent gotten pregnant. Ive even used antibiotics and meds dont interact with it. I love it!

i have the mirena and i love it! it’s completely stopped my period and i have little to no side effects. i have not used the implant, however my sister has. she said it made her have spotting everyday and gave her a lot of acne if she wasn’t taking the pill in addition to the implant. she now has the paragard iud and has no problems with it. her periods got heavier and more cramps but that’s part of the side effects of the paragaurd. i think it really depends on who you are and what your body likes. pick which one your gut is telling you that you should choose and go with it. if you need to you can always get either removed. good luck girl!

Well, I liked my IUD except it came out on it's own after only about 3 months.
On the other hand, I hated my implant. It made my depression way worse and my ovarian cysts seemed to be a lot more painful (no ultrasound to confirm anything there though).
