Sigh. So my mom doesn’t like my boyfriend because of the way he looks. She hasn’t met him but she doesn’t like that he has long hair and tattoos. This man is literally the most wonderful man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and I’m honestly devastated. My mom keeps telling me that I should find someone that helps me grow and that’s what he wants to do but she refuses to listen because of the reason previously stated. I am a very happy clam with him, she thinks I’m only dating him because he’s a “rebel” or a “bad boy” when he’s actually the complete opposite lmao. What do I do? :( im 22 btw so she can’t tell me to not date him but it sucks.

Update: I have also tried putting myself in my mom’s shoes and tried viewing my relationship without the rose colored glasses, I’ve been in two long term relationships before and know what to look out for. I wish my mom would trust my judgement, she raised me well to pick good men. I just don’t get how someone can be so judgy. It’s disgusting to me.
