Interracial Relationship Advice

I am an American girl, and I’m dating a Japanese man. He is the love of my life, and I’m positive I want to marry him someday. We never really have issues caused by cultural differences or language barriers (he speaks English fluently, I am conversational in Japanese)... but one thing that has hurt for me is the nasty comments I get from other white people.

I have had men harass me, telling me I shouldn’t be with a *string of racial slurs*, that I could be with a ‘real man’, etc. I’ve had women asking me why I’m with him when I could be with an ‘American guy’ or someone that, in their words, would ‘satisfy’ me. I’ve also had someone tell me I’m “fetishizing asian men”.

I don’t love him because he’s Japanese. I love his soul and his heart. He’s made me feel the happiest and safest I’ve ever felt and has let me grow as a person.

Does anyone have advice on what to say or do in these situations? It’s hard for me to walk away because I want to defend him and our relationship, so I need something to say when these things happen.

Any advice will help! ♥️

Thank you, ありがとう!
