Why I anti putting my baby in any routine

Ignoring the fact that some people say you can't put a baby on a schedule until they are at a certain age, here is why I haven't tried a schedule

1. I know I would never be able to put baby to sleep or feed them at exactly the same time every single day. Damn am a human and not all my days are the same. Some days I won't be able to keep the schedule.

2. Even if I managed to follow my routine to the dot, I do need baby sitters some days and none would follow my "rules" in my absence. Gash I have trouble getting them to handle baby as I wish in my presence.

3. Those growth spurts, mental leaps and stomach aches know no damn routine.

So can someone tell me why I should stress about keeping a routine which will be thrown out the window anyway and have me start afresh? Can someone who has a routine honestly tell me they are able to do the same things with baby every single day with no hardship?

UPDATE:

Thanks everyone for commenting and helping me see the use of a routine. Such a relief to know if I am late by a 30 minutes it is still a routine. One question: at what age do I start a routine to have it work? My baby is 6 weeks.
