Torticollis ??

My baby favors one side and hardly wants to turn the other way, she lifts her head up when I burp her but tummy’s time she doesn’t really want to. I’m worried. I will be calling her doc Monday I just need some advice l. I’m so worried.

My son was like that too...he went to physical therapy. They said that one side of his neck was tense and thats why he stayed on one side and to just stretch it and tilt his head the other way

My daughter used to favor one side, so her head would tilt like your baby’s. Her doctor said when she’s doing tummy time, make sure her head is facing the opposite way of her favorite side (if that makes sense, sorry I didn’t word it better)

Mine had this. I talked to her doctor and she set her up with a physical therapist (free in my state). They saw her once a week for a long time. Now she is 16 months old and they come once a month to check on her overall development. As they like to follow babies till they walk to make sure they dont have any one sided preferences. Mine can walk fine but only climbs using one side.

My youngest son had this. He wouldn’t turn his neck to the left at all. So when we played and interacted with him we made sure to turn him so that if he wanted to look at us he had to turn his head to the left. It took a few months but he was finally able to correct it himself :) we just worked with him constantly.

Our daughter has it too. She started physical therapy when she was a few weeks old. We’re still working on it, she’s doing great. Don’t be worried! It’s a very common problem, but I would address it soon so the recovery will be faster.

My doctor told me favoring one side isn’t torticollis but the shortening of the neck muscles and tilting their head to one side is.
