SOS: Another Retrevial?

Question

So I'm on my first 
IVF
 cycle. I'm a slow responder and only had 7 follies at baseline. They upped my Gonal F dose on Friday to 450iu/ day and I started Cetrotide last night.
I have 9 follicles today ranging from 8 to 17 but only have 3 lead follicles measuring 10-17, the rest are under 10. I go back Wednesday and they said expect to trigger and have retrevial Friday. With that being said, I'm only expecting 4 of those 9 to be mature, MAYBE 5. 
Should I opt for a second retrieval cycle or am I overthinking it? I am not getting any younger, and neither are my eggs, lol. Plus IVF is covered up to 20k and I'm almost to my OOP maximum for the year.

I'd go for it if you have the insurance coverage and desire to have more than 1 kiddo.  You can always wait until you see the results of fertilization and PGS testing if you're doing it.  We always have to wait for start of period before they start scheduling the next step. At least it gives you a little time to digest the information.

I only had 4 eggs retrieved my first round and resulted into 3 day 5s. We transferred 1 4AA embryo but it didn’t stick. We froze the other 2 embryos and decided to do a 2rd round of IVF because we wanted more embryos. I was also a poor responder to the medications. My 2nd round they increased my meds and retrieved 7 eggs with 6 making it to day 5. I also had Ivf coverage.

This is a HARD decision. I know because I did it. First attempt I only had 5 follicles that my doctor liked. This was supposed to my my one and only IVF retrieval so I got cold feet and switched to IUI. Second stimulation attempt was no improvement, even w/o starting on birth control and maxed out doses. I only had 4 mature follicles, 3 eggs retrieved, and only 1 was fertilizable. I’m waiting out the final days before my beta. No bfp 7 days post-transfer. Long story short, I wish I didn’t cancel my first attempt. May have had better luck. At least yours is covered.
