I’m not expecting our “rainbow” baby yet but we are planning. We lost our son in May full term. We grieved (hell we still are) but we’ve decided to start trying again at the end of the year. I’m going through test to make sure that I am healthy and taking prenatal vitamins to help with the folic acid to get into my system before conceiving. Anyways.

How did you tell you tell your spouse you were expecting? Assuming I get pregnant as quickly as last (wishful thinking, I know) I want to tell him around Christmas time.

I made an advent calendar for him a couple years ago which he loved, I was thinking about doing a similar idea but on day 25 having a picture of babies ultrasound in there. Was thinking of either doing the entire month of December or just the last 12 days.

The first time I told him we were expecting was terrible lol so I want to make it up to him. (In my defence. He told me he didn’t care how I told him and I was so excited I just sent him a picture to wake up to lol. Bad choice).

We’ve been together for almost 10 years. Ollie was our first baby and it was a terrible outcome. He was beautiful and I can only hope that he can somehow protect his sibling from the same fate he was dealt.
