Thoughts on bullet proof backpack?

I honestly think it’s dumb. They are pricey and they only protect your child from handguns. No riffles.

I hate the fact that school shootings are so common that kids are buying any kind of bullet proof school supplies

I get the point of them.. I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that bulletproof backpacks are an actual thing now. They would rather ensure bulletproof backpacks... but not better gun control .... and not better safety precautions in school.. it’s sickening.

Also I feel like they just offer no protection in general, they only cover your child’s back, not their limbs or front, and even then it’s not like your kids gonna have a backpack on them the whole time they’re at school, they usually put their backpacks in lockers and stuff. It’s pointless, I honestly feel like it’s a way to profit off of parents fears. 
What we should invest in is teaching our children what to do and how to act in the even of a shooting. Seems horrible to think about but it’s needed in these times.

I don’t think they’re dumb. I want to say that they’re unnecessary, but who honestly knows where or when it will happen with the world we live in today. It breaks my heart that anyone even has to worry about this.
