How & when did you potty train your boys?

I have a 14 month old son and am 19 weeks with baby boy #2, and was wanting to hear your experiences. I’ve heard that with boys, they won’t really potty train “until they’re ready” and have no plans to begin this process immediately but would really like to begin potty training by at least 2 years.

My boy was three i know alot of people with boys and all around same age takes them longer and thats when i started

My son is 2 now and he comes to tell me when he’s made a poo, does this mean he’s ready to start potty training? I’m not sure when to start.

Slowly starting the process, he will be 2 in October! He hates having a dirty diaper and a few times has come to us to tell us he needed to pee/poop. I feel like this one will be easy compared to our daughter...

My son is 2.5 and isn't ready yet. We've tried on a few occasions. He is speech delayed so it is a little tougher for us. My boys are 21 months apart and I really wanted my first potty trained by two but it didn't work out. We tried starting at 18 months then again at 2 then again a couple of months ago. He associates peeing with the potty, but is confused about the sequence. He pees in his diaper, then takes it off and gets on the potty.

We started around 2, he wasn't ready. So we waited a few more weeks and tried again. We were not very consistent with it until he was around 2.5.  We then became consistent and used the 3 day method. He did good until we were out somewhere without a bathroom. Then we had to retrain. He'll be 3 in 3.5 weeks and he's potty trained during the day (including naps) but some nights he still has accidents.  He also REFUSES to poop on the potty. He did once but it splashed him and he freaked out. The doctor said this is normal and it's even normal for boys to be a little older.
