Bedtime?

Question

How do you put your babies to bed? What’s your routine. It seems like no matter what we do we cannot get my daughter to go to sleep before 11. We start bedtime routine at 8. I just don’t understand and it’s killing us spending 3 hours every night trying to get her sleep.

We start our routine at 6:30ish - bath into pjs then always upstairs in dark room for bottle by 7! Have bottle then I prop baby up on some pillows so she’s upright (she has reflux) for half an hour with her Ewan sheep for white noise then in bed before 8! She’s generally goes off to sleep fine

I started playing attention to when he would yawn and be sleepy. It was around 530-6pm. So now we try to do bath time anywhere from 6-645pm depending on him (he loves bath time) then jammies with sleep sack, boob and bed. Usually finish everything around 730-8pm. When he's older we'll do book too.

Around 630 we do bath, lotion massage, pajamas. Then a feeding. Then put her in her sleep sack, walk around and say good night to the things in the house, read a couple pages from whatever book we are on, the lay her in her crib. Usually she’s awake when I lay her down and we shut off the lights and walk out. She puts herself to sleep within 10 minutes. We’ve been doing this routine since about 2.5months. She sleeps then til 6am

We also start around 6:30-7. Bath by 7 at the latest and shes usually asleep by 830-9pm, and will usually sleep through the night.

Our bedtime routine starts from 7pm or pm depending on how tired she is looking. We start with a nice warm bath and we allow her to play in there for maybe 15/20 minutes. Get dressed in her pjs, I put relaxing music on YouTube (rain, ocean waves, meditation music) and I breast feed her. Once I see she is not drinking anymore I put her down in my bed and I just sit there with her sleepy but still awake. Sometimes she watches the YouTube video that is playing, usually is either rain or ocean waves and her eyes start to slowly close. Once she is sleeping I stay there for maybe another 5/10minutes and then I put her in her crib. She is usually asleep within an hour of our routine start.

I don’t think you should rush baby if he/she is under 5 months. I followed my babies cues and for the longest time 10pm was bedtime for her. We would take her upstairs for bath at 9pm, and then feed until just before or around 10pm. She would also sometimes wake for a top up around 11pm, and then sleep till 6 or 7am.
Two nights ago I saw her giving some really strong sleep cues around 7:30pm and it wasn’t a bath night, so I fed her and rocked her and she passed out. I tried to put her down but she is in Leap 4, so she just didn’t want to be put down, but she did want to keep sleeping. So I rocked her to sleep again and the put the Mamaroo on, and placed her in it. She kept sleeping through until past 10pm so I picked her up when we were ready to go to bed, and I dream fed her around 10:30pm which lasted her until 5:30 or 6am.
The next night I did the same, and she woke early at 4am.
Last night I decided to let her sleep in the crib for the early part of the night. She was fussing a bit and went down at 8:30pm. But then she slept past 10pm again, I changed her and Dream fed her at 10:30pm, and she is still sleeping and it’s 6:15am now. 
She also rolled to her tummy in the night and kept sleeping, which is a first!!! (She has a very strong neck and she turns it to the side but hasn’t ever felt like she could settle after a roll till last night!)
I feel better following my baby’s lead than enforcing a bed time, at least while she is this young (almost 15 weeks). If she wasn’t a good sleeper otherwise, maybe I would put more structure, but her bedtime routine, even if it’s a little flex, doesn’t bother me! I will just keep adapting to her, as she adapts to this world!

We don’t do a bath every night but the nights we do we start around 7:30 and she’s in bed by 9. We do a bath then feed her she hangs out with us for a bit plays with some toys and usually falls asleep and then we change diaper and put her in her bassinet, if she’s wide awake still we put her in her bassinet and she puts her self to sleep by 9 each night and sleeps till 5 am for a feeding and then back to sleep till 9 am

We dont have a routine yet, my lo used to be stuck in a 1am bedtime, then slowly kept moving bedtime earlier until now she goes down with her older sister around 8:30. Just don't take no for an answer even if it takes awhile for her to finally fall asleep. Keep her in a dark room with white noise and be quiet with her. Should eventually make her body clock change earlier.

Bath time at 6:30/7 for 30 minutes then massage with mustela baby lotion, 5 drops of gerber soothe with vitamin D, read 2 short books, swaddle him with his arms out of the halo sleep sack and then a full feed on both boobs and then transfer him to his bassinet that is in the nursery connected to our room at about 7:30/8pm. He will wake up at 11pm then 2am and then 6am. I am trying to merge the 11 and 2am feedings now.
