Calcium Deposit on heart after normal NIPT results
HI All, At 10 weeks we had the Non invasive prenatal testing blood screening. I just turned 42 so we were worried about the results. I believe the test I had was Informaseq or something close. My results came back great with no abnormalities and we were told we are having a boy. Today we went to see my fetal maternal doctor at 17 weeks and had an ultrasound and started my Makena injections. My doctor put me on bed rest for placenta previa and announced after our ultrasound that our baby has a calcium deposit on his heart and that it's an indicator of down syndrome. Has anyone else gotten back good genetic testing and then had a downs syndrome baby? Both of my doctors feel I'm too high risk for an amniocentesis so now I'm a nervous wreck. I was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 10 weeks and all the stress isn't helping my blood sugar but I cant seem to relax now. Looking for any similar experiences. I almost forgot, I also read online that a spot like this is so common in babies of Asian ethnicity that it cant even be considered a marker. My fiance is half Korean. I'm wondering now if this has any significance. He was in the room and the doctor never mentioned anything about Asian ethnicity being more prone to these spots. Thank you in advance for your replies!
