When to test and can this affect?

So I'm normally very regular with my periods always the first week of the month or within the first 8 days ish. I have yet to start with no signs of starting soon... I did have a cortisone shot about a month ago and have taken muscle relaxers. Have you ever heard of it affecting your menstrual cycle I can't find any good info on Google...🙄
