Past D&C and Incompetent Cervix?

Question

Anyone ever had a d&c and had complications with future pregnancies? 
I’ve read online that having a D&C can increase your risk in having an incompetent cervix and I was wondering if anyone had this issue.

I had two missed miscarriages and unfortunately had to have two D&C’s from them even though I tried to avoid it. Turned to IVF and got pregnant. At 21 weeks my cervix was on the verge of short and starting to funnel. At 24 weeks if was officially short and continued to funnel. They put me on progesterone suppositories. At 25 if got shorter and was still funneling. They inserted a pessary at this time. I’ve had it checked every week and it got shorter sometimes and a bit longer or remained the same sometimes. Ive also been on bedrest since 24 weeks. I’m 33w2d now! It was absolutely terrifying at first but after 28 weeks I felt a little better and each day that has gone by has made me feel even better! They said I’ll probably have incompetent cervix for all future pregnancies but next time since they know they can give me a cerclage at 14 weeks and that should help me avoid bedrest. I think I got lucky that my case wasn’t super extreme or at least I’ve managed to control or. Hoping to make it to September! My due date is September 29th but that’s pretty much out of the question.
I don’t know how common or likely this was, but it did happen to me. They said it’s probably because of the surgeries.

I had a d&c and my dr said that's extremely rare and he's only seen it in cases where she's had multiple d&c and/or abortions.

I had to have two surgeries for fibroids and a D & C was done with both of them. It never caused any issues with my cervix and currently I have a 4 month old.

I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy and had a d & c. No history of incompetent cervix in the family. All my sisters have had kids and no issues. 
I had a loss at 16 weeks with my second pregnancy and they said they said ? Incompetent cervix. 
I’m on my 3rd pregnancy now due for my c section this Thursday and they confirmed the incompetent cervix as my cervix started shortening around 21 weeks. They said it could’ve been a result of the d & c but no one knows for sure.

I had to have two d&C's and a d&e. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and have a shortened cervix. So I get the length checked regularly so that if it gets bad enough it can be fixed in time. My doctor told me it's because of my surgeries and the fact I have a bicornuate uterus. I don't know if just one surgery would really affect it that much? There was no concern after the first one with my previous doctor.
