Glow's Inclusiveness!!!!!
I recently wrote to Glow about not being able to identify with the Caucasian avatar they utilize to represent certain symptoms. Instead I was met with complete dismissal, and disregard of my concern by being instructed on how to change my profile/cover pictures. It was disheartening to realize that they truly do not care about their users' experience with the app itself. I'm uninstalling ASAP!!!
The original message is as followed:
As a woman of color it makes me feel unrepresented when the avatar that's used to show physical symptoms is Caucasian. I think that if users were able to choose an avatar that most closely resembled their likeness, it would greatly improve their interaction/experience with the app. I don't know if this feature is already available to "paying users", as I'm not yet one; even so, it would be wrong to have to "pay" to be accurately depicted in the app. Besides this drawback, I absolutely love the app. I just don't understand why there are not more options geared towards inclusivity for logging your daily information. Ironically, inclusiveness seems to be what this app was primarily founded upon.
