So I work at this factory called lakeshirts in Detroit lakes mn. I’ve been working here since about March of this year. When I first started I was pregnant with a ectopic pregnancy I was 20 weeks which is really bad. My tube ruptured 10 minutes before I went for surgery.

Anyways , I had no idea what was going on. And lakeshirts is really anal about brining in a doctors note or calling out when you need to. I went in the er was at the hospital for two days and had a recovery time of three months. They tried to fire me because I didn’t let them know I was going into the hospital to have surgery. Their excuse , “ you boyfriend could have called us to let us know “ but when I sent him there to talk to them AFTER my surgery they refused to talk to him and said I had to come in.

After my recovery I went back to work and got put on an attendance contract. Which means your not allowed to miss any days for 45 days, at all. Well I did that. Just recently I missed one day because of a migraine I can’t stand light movement or sound and being in a factory that’ll make it worse. So I called out came back the next day and they put me on another attendance contract and said that I needed to have55 days without missing anything...so theres that.

Next. They claim they take care of their employees. They take care of the rich snobs that sit at a computer all day and don’t do any hard labor. Not to mention machine operator workers where I’m from make 18$ but machine operator at lake shirts make $11 which is a total pay cut .. anyways. The factory itself has numerous roof leaks and it looks like a rookie electrical man did the wiring here so when it rains it drips through the roof and is surround by a bunch of wires. This is a total hazard and could start a very dangerous electrical fire. But they REFUSE to fix it. They refuse to acknowledge it.

Your lead will bitch at you for finding work to do before asking them. It’s just all round the worst place to work. ....

Oh AND THEY ALLOW KIDS IN THE EMBROIDERY AREA WITH NEEDLES ANS PEOPLE HYPED UP ON DRUGS AND THEY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT ! It’s the only place in Detroit lakes mnthat doesn not drug test because the owners their selves shove coke up their nose....
