I need to clean my toddlers nose but am struggling. He had a bad cold for about a week recently and woke up one morning with snot and gunk dried in his nostrils. I cleaned it off as best as I could but he screamed and thrashed around and where part of it has been cleaned off he had a little cut underneath. So now it’s really sore for him but he won’t even let me go near his face without kicking up a huuuuge fuss and getting massively worked up, which is making things worse because his nose is streaming when he cries and adding to the problem.

Any advice on how to gently clean off the dried gunk without hurting him or panicking him too much? At the moment I’m having to get his dad to hold his head still with both hands while I keep his arms pinned with one hand and wipe his nose with the other which feels so awful do to 😣
