My baby was officially diagnosed with colic yesterday at her 1 month appointment. She is exclusively breast fed and the doctor mentioned that avoiding dairy, caffeine, and even chocolate are possibly ways to help. My mother formula fed and she has always mentioned I should give up breastfeeding because it would be easier to formula feed. She mentioned today that her friend advised me to stop breast feeding as well because I’m causing her colic. It’s very difficult to hear and breastfeeding has been going pretty easily for us otherwise. I would simply ignore my moms comments but she lives with us due to her COPD. I just feel very discouraged at the moment..... and I don’t want to stop breastfeeding my baby girl. My mom also keeps ordering ice cream treats, which are my weakness. On a more positive note, my baby is cute and I love her to pieces.
