I’m interested to know how many parents have a favourite child or people with no children or only one child do you think you could ever have a favourite child if one day you have more than one?

I have one child now and am pregnant with my second and I could never even imagine having a favourite. I feel like I will always love all my children equally, just in different ways and couldn’t ever pick one as my “favourite”. I’ve discussed this with my mother and grandmother who each have three kids and they agreed saying all of their kids are equal to them.

On the other hand I’ve met at least three women all who say they have favourite kids.

One of my aunts who has three daughters swears that her youngest daughter is her favourite.

One of my friends who has three kids (two boys and one girl) always says her middle child (her oldest boy) is her favourite.

I also had a teacher who had two kids (one boy and one girl) and always said her oldest (the daughter) was her favourite.

It just seems so weird to me to have a favourite child.

Do you have a favourite child? If so do you actually love that child more or are they your favourite just in the sense of your personalities get along the best or you have the most in common with them type of thing? Do you think it’s right or wrong to have a favourite child?
