Late for AF but negative test?

Question

I’m 1-3 days late depending on my cycle length, is it normal to still get negatives? I got positives the day of my missed period with last 2 miss. 
I’m always 28-30 day cycles and I feel like I’m getting my hopes up each day! I have all the early pregnancy symptoms. Anyone else get a positive after missed AF?

I’m also having this problem, according to the app I’m 5 days late but I usually get my cycle around the 13-17 but not this month it was supposed to come on the 8th and this app has always been on time and accurate with my cycle. So I took a test and it was a big fat negative no faint lines nothing I’m worried I’m stressing for nothing but should I take another one?
